Deacon Nick has been married to Lisa for 35 years. They met at a fraternity/sorority exchange while he was at UCLA and she was Mt. St. Mary’s college. He went through the RCIA program at St. Angela’s in Brea and received his full initiation into the Church in March 1986 and was married there in May 1986. They have three children (Anna, Tony and Mary) and have lived in Yorba Linda and been parishioners at St. Martin’s for 25 years. They have been involved with many ministries including: their annual festival, Youth and Adult Ministry, Us in the Son, and Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. As a family, they enjoy the theater, concerts and going to Disneyland (where he worked during his college years).
After entering the Diaconate Formation program in 2009 he was ordained a Deacon in October 2013. He is very involved with many ministries involving Social Justice and Mental Health issues, both at the parish and Diocesan level. He also has a strong passion for missionary work, especially working with the Missionaries of the Poor at their various apostolates in Uganda, Haiti, the Philippines (Cebu and Nagu City) and Jamaica. He is also facilitator for the Catholic Social Teaching program designed for the Diaconate Aspirant class in their second year of formation. He is also the current Diocesan Coordinator for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).
Deacon Nick is proud Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and currently serves as Diocesan Chaplain for the Catholic Committee on Scouting (he received his Eagle Scout in 1976). He has been the Chief Financial Officer for 35 years for both profit and non-profit companies, primarily in the health care industry.
