Pastoral Letter

Happy November!
It’s hard to believe it’s been four months since I arrived as your new Administrator. My heart is filled with gratitude for the many ways in which the Lord is at work in our community, especially in the areas of Food, Faith, and Fellowship--the focus of this letter.
These three elements are essential to the life of a thriving parish, just as they were central to Jesus’ ministry, culminating in the great meal, family gathering, and sacrifice of the Eucharist at the Last Supper. Here are some of the ways our parish is living out Food, Faith, and Fellowship:
Sunday Donuts Sunday donuts have been a beloved tradition here for a long time. I’m grateful to all the volunteers who make this happen each week at the 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM Masses.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Events Over the past year, the Our Lady of Guadalupe group has organized monthly events with food and religious articles. These gatherings build community and fundraise for the beautification of the Our Lady of Guadalupe statue and niche in our church.
Deacon Donut Mondays Inspired by Deacon Ken, this new weekly gathering takes place every Monday after the 8:30 AM Mass. We come together for donuts, coffee, and joyful connection as members of the body of Christ.
Marian Breakfast Pastries Sponsored by the Women’s Ministry, this is another new offering. On Marian feast days throughout the year, the ministry celebrates Our Blessed Mother with breakfast pastries following the Marian Masses.
Saturday Sizzle Sponsored by our St. Joseph Knights of Columbus, “Saturday Sizzle” takes place on the first Saturday of each month after the 4:00 PM Mass. The Knights provide hot dogs, and are considering a “warmer” food offering as we enter into the cooler months.
Family Mass and Meal On the first Sunday of each month, our St. Joseph School and Youth Ministry sponsor a Family Mass at 5:00 PM followed by a community dinner. The evening closes with our Confirmation classes, making it a special time for families to gather in faith.
Seeing our faith community come together over food and fellowship fills me with gratitude, and I’m thankful to all the people who help make this happen. If you would like to volunteer your time, talent and treasure for these events, I would greatly appreciate it. I pray that these offerings continue to flourish, and that we’ll find even more ways to come together as the Lord inspires us.

¡Feliz noviembre!
Es difícil creer que ya han pasado cuatro meses desde que llegué como su nuevo Administrador. Mi corazón está lleno de gratitud por todas las formas en que el Señor está obrando en nuestra comunidad, especialmente en las áreas de Comida, Fe y Convivencia.
Estos tres elementos son esenciales para una parroquia próspera, al igual que lo fueron en el ministerio de Jesús, culminando en la gran comida, la reunión familiar y el sacrificio de la Eucaristía en la Última Cena. Aquí están algunas de las maneras en que nuestra parroquia está viviendo la Comida, Fe y Convivencia:
Donas del Domingo Las donas del domingo han sido una tradición querida aquí por mucho tiempo. Agradezco a todos los voluntarios que lo hacen posible cada semana después de las Misas de 8:00 AM y 10:00 AM.
Eventos de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe En el último año, el grupo de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe ha organizado eventos mensuales con comida y artículos religiosos. Estas reuniones fortalecen la comunidad y recaudan fondos para embellecer su estatua y nicho en nuestra iglesia.
Lunes de Donas con el Diácono Inspirado por el Diácono Ken, esta nueva reunión semanal se lleva a cabo cada lunes después de la Misa de 8:30 AM. Nos unimos para compartir donas, café y una alegre conexión como miembros del cuerpo de Cristo.
Desayunos Marianos Patrocinado por el Ministerio de Mujeres, esta es otra nueva iniciativa. En las fiestas marianas del año, el ministerio celebra a nuestra Madre con desayunos después de las Misas marianas.
Sábado de Parrillada El “Sábado de Parrillada,” patrocinado por los Caballeros de Colón de San José, ocurre el primer sábado de cada mes después de la Misa de 4:00 PM. Los Caballeros ofrecen hot dogs para toda la comunidad, sumando un momento de convivencia a nuestro fin de semana.
Misa y Cena Familiar El primer domingo de cada mes, nuestra Escuela de San José y el Ministerio de Jóvenes patrocinan una Misa Familiar a las 5:00 PM, seguida de una cena comunitaria y nuestras clases de Confirmación. Es un momento especial para que las familias se reúnan en la fe.
Estos eventos traen alegría a mi corazón. Ver a nuestra comunidad reunirse en torno a la comida y la convivencia me llena de gratitud, y agradezco a todas las personas que hacen esto posible. Ruego que estas oportunidades sigan creciendo y que encontremos más formas de unirnos, según nos inspire el Señor.
