The EucharistThe Eucharist is the most special sacrament, in which Christ himself is contained, offered and received, and by which the Church constantly lives and grows. The Eucharistic sacrifice, the memorial of the death and resurrection of the Lord, in which the sacrifice of the cross is perpetuated over the centuries, is the summit and source of all Christian life and worship; it signifies and affects the unity of the people of God and achieves the building up of the Body of Christ.
As children reach the age of reason, generally around age seven, the Church extends to them an invitation to celebrate the sacrament of Eucharist. The initiation into the Christian community that took place at baptism is further extended by inviting children to enter fully into the heart of Christian faith through participation in the Eucharist.
The Eucharist is the sacrament by which Catholics receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. For Catholics, this is the most treasured gift given to the Church by the Lord at the Last Supper. In receiving the Eucharist, we are nourished by the Lord. The bread and wine used in the Mass are transformed in all but appearance into the Body and Blood of Christ. -

La EucaristíaLa Eucaristía es el sacramento más especial, en el que el mismo Cristo está contenido, ofrecido y recibido, y por el cual la Iglesia vive y crece constantemente. El sacrificio eucarístico, memorial de la muerte y resurrección del Señor, en el que se perpetúa a lo largo de los siglos el sacrificio de la cruz, es cumbre y fuente de toda vida y culto cristiano; significa y afecta la unidad del pueblo de Dios y logra la edificación del Cuerpo de Cristo.Cuando los niños alcanzan la edad de uso de razón, generalmente alrededor de los siete años, la Iglesia les extiende una invitación a celebrar el sacramento de la Eucaristía. La iniciación en la comunidad cristiana que tuvo lugar en el bautismo se amplía aún más al invitar a los niños a entrar plenamente en el corazón de la fe cristiana a través de la participación en la Eucaristía.La Eucaristía es el sacramento por el cual los católicos reciben el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Jesucristo. Para los católicos, este es el regalo más preciado que el Señor dio a la Iglesia en la Última Cena. Al recibir la Eucaristía, somos nutridos por el Señor. El pan y el vino utilizados en la Misa se transforman en todo menos en apariencia en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo.
