Deacon Ed's Poems: Time

"Tick" went the clock upon the mantle,
Again it spoke, "Tock," it said,
Unending rhythmic chant.

"Bong!" said the bell up in the tower,
Booming voice of tolling bell,
Announce to all the hour.

Day and night,
In rhythmic flight,
Count the moments of our lives.
