Deacon Ed's Poems
Pesach

It seems so strange to speak of him,
Who lived and died and lives again,
Yet in this world it is so true,
What we reject we later rue.
He gave his life upon a tree,
To purchase life for you and me,
And though they laid him in the tomb,
A place as strange as was the womb,
That bore him without knowing man,
He rose according to God's plan.
Good Friday's tears abated then,
   As Easter's joy replaces them.
The resurrection he foretold,
   In proclamation he made bold,
God's promise of eternal life,
That lifts us from our daily strife.
